Acquisition and Maintenance of Text-based Plans

چکیده

Text-based plans are plans whose steps and goals are described in a textual format. In contrast to logicbased plans plans that are represented based on variations of a first-order logic format such plans are much easier for a domain expert to describe, and is getting much easier to find given the tremendous growth of the Internet. In this paper we assume that the user is interested in an interactive plan retrieval system that is based on a library of text-based plans. We focus on two important issues on the maintenance of this library: the updating of the text-based plans themselves and the maintenance of the indexes with which to retrieve these plans. We present techniques that address the life-time maintenance of such plan libraries with techniques drawing from information retrieval, neural network learning and case based reasoning.

Periodic flexible maintenance planning in a single-machine production environment

Preventive maintenance is the essential part of many maintenance plans. From the production point of view, the flexibility of the maintenance intervals enhances the manufacturing efficiency. On the contrary, the maintenance departments tend to know the timing of the long term maintenance plans as certain as possible. In a single-machine production environment, this paper proposes a simulation–o...

Planning in Incomplete Domains

Engineering complete planning domain descriptions is often very costly because of human-error or lack of domain knowledge. While many have studied knowledge acquisition, relatively few have studied the synthesis of plans when the domain model is incomplete (i.e., actions have incomplete preconditions or effects). Prior work has evaluated the correctness of plans synthesized by disregarding such...

Wheelset Condition Monitoring based on pass-by vibration signals

Apart from regular wheel wear such as decreasing wheel diameters and reduced flange thicknesses and heights, wheel flats (WF) and oval wheels (or OOR, Out-Of-Roundness) are the most common wheelset problems for railway vehicles. Within the FP7 Research Project “Saferail”, APT has developed an innovative wheelset monitoring system so-called “Wheel flat and Out of Roundness Monitoring (WORM) syst...
